Have you ever felt alone on your self development journey?
You've put in the work. LOTS of it.
Sometimes it's been difficult. Other times, it's been downright PAINFUL.
They didn't tell you when you embarked on this path how hard it would be.
But the PAYOFF??
The payoff is BEAUTIFUL, and full of incredible experiences, friendships, and triumphs.
And it's likely that many of those triumphs aren't known "out there" in the world.
Most of the wins are silent and behind the curtain. Often, we don't even stop and gives ourselves a minute to celebrate ourselves, pat ourselves on the back, or treat ourselves to a well-deserved day (or week or MONTH) off!
I know this situation all too well, because it was my story.
For 12 years, I hustled HARD as an entrepreneur (I'm talkin' up before dawn and in bed by 4am some nights, fighting for my dream), striving for a life where I didn't have to work for "the man"; where I could be my own boss, be at home with my kids, retire my husband and travel the world.
That isn't EXACTLY how it played out.
Don't get me wrong! I was definitely my own boss, and I definitely got to be at home with my kids. It's just that the "retire my husband and travel the world" bit wasn't coming together for me.
Not only that, I had tried so many things (with full-fledged commitment!) and even stayed in a career I disliked for over a decade because I WAS NOT A QUITTER.
I cared an AWFUL LOT what people thought of me.
I found it difficult to stick to a plan to accomplish something major because I was mostly alone in my pursuit.
Sure, I had some online biz besties and friends who lent an occasional ear, but what I needed was someone in my corner who had walked the path before me and could guide me to the finish line.
The problem was, even my coaches (who have all been AH-MAZING, btw) couldn't help me the way I really needed.
At the core of each and every human being is a foundational need to be seen, heard, understood and LOVED.
And the reality of being a person of purpose, is that the unexplained FIRE in our bellies that drives us forward DEMANDS we keep showing up, even if the world doesn't see the SACRIFICE and dedication it takes to do so.
It took a LONG time for me to let myself even BEGIN to LOVE myself, because I was waiting for a knight on a white horse and in his snazzy shining armour to show up and "save" me (which if you haven't figured out by now, doesn't happen).
I struggled to love myself because even I didn't fully understand how truly AMAZING I was.
I was LOST.
One thing I KNOW for sure, is that OTHER PEOPLE certainly can't understand you, if YOU don't even understand yourself.
Since following my passion for helping others recognize and celebrate their uniqueness, gifts and zone of genius, I've come to realize that it not only affects our success in business, but in LIFE.
Your sense of SELF and IDENTITY come from your interpretation of these 4 key areas:
Ability, Effort, Performance, and Self-worth.
And we tend to measure our self-worth by our appearance, net worth, who you know/your social circle, what you do/your career, and what you achieve (Morin, 2017).
So no matter how much self care and self love you practice, if you don't feel like you're living up to the expectations of your parents, your spouse, your boss or SOCIETY, you will likely continue to feel less than worthy of the success you once thought you deserved.
You see the pattern?
I did too. And I DECIDED to make a change.
I DECIDED to STOP STRIVING to be the person I dreamt of becoming, but finally, once and for all, simply BE THAT PERSON.
That was the sound my head made when it blew. Seriously.
That one small shift in my thinking literally changed my life.
Because, the person who BELIEVES that the life they should be living is just outside of their reach, will think, act and behave like it's just outside of their reach.
The person who BELIEVES that they ARE that person ALREADY, thinks, acts and behaves MUCH differently.
So you see, the ONLY OBSTACLE in your way at this point is the CLARITY on who and what that is.
So, WHO ARE YOU?
And...WHAT ARE YOU HERE TO DO?
THAT IS WHAT THIS EVENT IS ALL ABOUT.
I.D = I Decide
Say it with me, "from now on, I DECIDE my identity!"
The I.D Conference & Awards Gala is the first event dedicated to the celebration of being your TRUEST, most authentic self! A day of influential speakers, networking and impact-driven vendors, plus an evening of awards recognizing those who are BEing and DOing their most aligned identity and purpose.
